ENVS 0241 - Restoration EcologyCredits: 4 Restoration ecology is the scientific study of repairing damaged ecosystems. This course will introduce theories, principles, and regulations that guide restoration practices in a variety of ecosystems. We will examine the philosophical base of restoration as well as the social, biological, and political forces that impact the success of restoration and link the conceptual and theoretical to real-world application. Labs will involve field trips to sites undergoing restoration and learning from practitioners in the field. Prerequisites: ENVS 0105 and either ENVS 0101 or BIOL 0102 |
