PSYC 0662 - Clinical Behavior Analysis

This course, for graduate students in Applied Behavior Analysis, focuses on utilizing ABA foundational principals in clinical applications for adult psychiatric populations. All evidenced based treatments will be compared and contrasted with ABA with an eye for finding compatible methods of working. Emphasizing applications to adult clinical populations, students will also look at what defines evidence based treatments; necessary understanding of the DSM 5 in clinical settings and basics of neurological understanding of psychiatric disorders. Some treatment approaches that will be considered in addition to ABA are: Behavior Therapy; Cognitive-Behavior Therapy; EMDR; Dialectical Behavior Therapy; Positive Behavior Support; Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, amomg others.

Prerequisites: Must be a matriculated student in the Applied Behavior Analysis Master's program at WSU
