SOCW 0631 - Child Welfare Policy

This course meets the WSU MSW requirement for an advanced policy course. This course examines the history and current status of child welfare policy in the United States. The theories, assumptions, politics, and economics underlying child welfare policies and practices are explored and evaluated in relationship to major theories and empirical knowledge about child development, children's rights, human needs, and social work values and ethics.
