PADM 0632 - Healthcare Policy

Credits: 3

This course examines the political environments that have shaped the healthcare systems in the United States and in other countries.  This includes exploring current challenges faced by healthcare policy makers and learning about key players in the system.  It is critical that public administrators who work in public health understand how healthcare policy is formed and implemented in the United States so that they can be effective participants in healthcare policy development and delivery.  A better understanding of international healthcare policies will expose students to new approaches that may be adapted to improve US policies, and it will help prepare them for collaborative opportunities with counterparts in other countries.
