This course examines important policy issues and historical questions in American foreign relations through various theoretical perspectives. It focuses on social, political, institutional, and ideological forces that shape the formulation and implementation of U.S. foreign policy. Among major topics of discussion are: World War II, the postwar recovery and rearmament programs, cold war rivalries, war on terrorism, and U.S. economic policy.
