The objective of this course is to understand the historical, theoretical, ethical, legal, and practical aspects of Public Relations. Focus areas include issues management, crisis communication, media relations in an era of social media, corporate social responsibility, government and community relations, and strategic communication. Students will analyze the role of Public Relations in sports, education, health, politics, non-profits, entertainment, and grassroot organizations. Students will also demonstrate their proficiency of core concepts through the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Public Relations Campaigns.
