COMM 0342 - Public Relations Writing

The course will cover key components of Public Relations Writing for various audiences and platforms. Areas of focus will include how to write persuasive and ethical news releases, media pitches, news features, fact sheets, advocacy materials, and annual reports. Students will apply critical thinking and creativity as they engage in the writing, proof-reading, and editing process. Students will also learn relevant skills required in the Public Relations Profession through analysis of news on social media platforms and emerging issues in Public Relations.

Prerequisites: COMM 0203  and COMM 0204  or permission of instructor.
