HESC 0390 - Level II Fieldwork Placement I

This course fulfills the first of two level II fieldwork requirements necessary to meet accreditation standards for OTA education. Students will be assigned to a setting/location with a qualified OT practitioner as a supervisor who will guide the experience and evaluate learner performance. Students can expect to work in their assigned setting full-time throughout the placement, following a supervisor work schedule. According to accreditation standards, level II fieldwork experiences aim to develop "clinical reasoning and reflective practice, transmit the values and beliefs that enable ethical practice, and develop professionalism and competence in career responsibilities" (ACOTE, 2018, C.1.0.).

Prerequisites: Permission of the OTA Program Director

Minimum of a 3.0 Cumulative GPA

All B.S. Health Science Degree and OTA Concentration Requirements Completed with the exception of HESC 0390, HESC 0391, and HESC 0395
