ECON 0102 - Principles of Microeconomics

Students will gain a broad understanding of how individuals make choices, how they interact with each other, and how these choices influence, and are influenced by, broader economic and social institutions. Topics covered will include a detailed study of the institutions of capitalism such as markets, market structures, and an evaluation of the role of government in improving market outcomes. Other topics may include income distribution, taxation, environmental protection, etc. ECON 0101   and ECON 0102 may be taken in any order.
