EDUC 0378 - Behavior Supports for Students with Disabilities

This course explores identification of, and appropriate intervention strategies for, students with disabilities. Participants will develop understandings and skills related to obervational assessment, data analysis and interpretation, Functional Behavior Assessment, and the development of Positive Behavior Support Plans that facilitate student access to learning and inclusion. Issues of race, language, culture and disproportionate diagnoses of behavior disorders will be addressed. This course focuses on the importance of creating and maintaining a safe and collaborative learning environment for students with disabilities and aligns with the department's commitment to Building Community.
