MOVP 0311 - Adapted Physical Education

This course will cover best practice used in assessment, identification, skill analysis and program implementation for students with special needs. Considerations will be given to characteristics, associated with intellectual and learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, orthopedic disabilities, sensory disorders, chronic illnesses, and their integration into physical education programs. Special attention will be given to the impact of federal and state regulations as they relate to adapted and mainstreamed physical education. Twenty (20) hours of field work required.

Prerequisites: MOVP 0202  or
MOVP 0203
 . Intermediate Standing required.
