PSYC 0101 - Introduction to Psychology

In this course students will gain an understanding of the scientific principles underlying human behavior and mental processes from diverse perspectives. Students will learn how contrasting viewpoints and cultural backgrounds can influence our understanding of our behavior and how we interact with others. Students will develop an understanding of how psychology is related to everyday life and use it to become conscientious, ethical, and responsible community members. Course topics will include scientific methods, biological psychology, sensation and perception, learning, memory, development, personality, social psychology, and psychopathology.
