PSYC 0362 - Capstone Experience: Substance Use Disorder Diagnosis and Treatment

This Capstone Experience (CE) course assists students in interpreting dynamics, research, and the most effective treatment modalities for Substance Use Disorders (SUD). SUD is a disease that affects a person's brain and behavior, and leads to an inability to control the use of a legal or illegal drug or medication, such as alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine, among others. Included are the physiological causes of substance use, common psychological denominators, defenses, treatment and progression, and recovery relapse of the substance user.

Prerequisites: PSYC 0101  or permission of instructor.
