POLS 0110 - Introduction to Asian Studies

This course introduces students to Asia broadly defined, its peoples, and cultures. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, this course examines the history, politics, philosophy, religion, aesthetics, economies, and foreign relations of selected nations in the region. By taking this course, students are expected to see beyond commonplace notions and generalizations about Asia and broaden their understanding of various perspectives and cultures in Asia. This course also seeks to help students learn cultural humility and the skills necessary to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from different cultures and societies in Asia.
