Mental health co-responders face a unique challenge in that there is a significant time pressure to conduct clinical assessment due to the potential risk of harm. This course will review valid and reliable rapid assessments of mental health, risk of harm to self and others, crisis, and level of care. These assessments are crucial in determining how to best intervene and de-escalate potentially volatile circumstances.
