Students will develop skills in describing jazz styles and compositions and posing insightful questions about the web of jazz performers, audiences, academics, and critics. This immersive class prioritizes active listening and is writing infused, inviting students to deepen their understanding of jazz, investigating its nuances and the cultural influences that have shaped its rich history.
