HIST 0357 - The Civil War and Reconstruction, 1845 - 1877 Credits: 3
This course examines the nature of American slavery, the Abolitionist Movement, causes and course of the Civil War, soldiers’ experiences, Emancipation, hopes and dreams of the freed slaves, successes and failures of Reconstruction, betrayal of African American civil rights, the rise of segregation, lynching, and Jim Crow laws.
Prerequisites: HIST 0131 .
