HIST 0268 - The City in American History Credits: 3
A study of the American city from colonial times to the present. This course examines the impact of urbanization upon social and institutional structures. Topics include: the rise of the city, transportation revolution, industrialization, immigration, ghettos, suburbanization, metropolitan and megalopolitan forms, urban race relations, and city and regional planning.
Prerequisites: HIST 0131 or HIST 0132 .
