HIST 0277 - Latin America Since 1800 Credits: 3
This course examines broad themes in modern Latin American history. Topics include: independence movements; political, economic, and social patterns of development; the Mexican Revolution and its legacy; the role of the military in Latin America; human rights struggles; and the impact of U.S. foreign policy. Special focus is placed on Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, and selected Caribbean and Central American countries.
