GPS 0110 - Science for Future Presidents Credits: 3
This course offers an interdisciplinary examination of scientific topics and questions necessary to understand in order to make informed decisions in the 21st century with an emphasis on connecting science, societal impacts, policy choices, and democratic decision-making. Specific topics include climate change, sustainability, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, infectious diseases, space exploration, and more. Readings, writings, discussions, position papers, and a research project allow students to expand and refine their scientific literacy and understanding of the societal connections.
Prerequisites: ENGL 0101
