ECON 0210 - Economics of Happiness

Credits: 3

Can we be happier as a society? What is the evidence from the social and health sciences on what makes people happy? What can each one of us do to progress towards greater levels of individual and societal well-being? Students will be guided on an exploration of these and similar questions primarily through the lens of economics, and supplemented by the evidence and methodological insights gained from other related disciplines. Students will use the insights to develop a draft research proposal of their own for further investigation of a topic covered in the course.
