ART 0228 - Graphic Design I

Graphic Design 1 introduces basic design principles utilizing industry standard software. Basic design skills for small ads and brochures as well as newsletter grid design in a digital environment, output and offset printing will be emphasized. Students will learn the history of graphic design, study typography, and the fundamentals of design to help them understand the creative process. Students evaluate works of art and leave with a wide range of art projects to understand the medium of digital design. No prior computer experience is necessary.
