MUSC 0450 - Capstone Experience in Music
Credits: 1-3
Students majoring in Music are encouraged to complete a Capstone Experience. The capstone’s purpose is to give students a culminating experience in the Music major. The hallmark of a capstone experience is that it is integrative, requiring a substantial project. Students are expected to apply knowledge from prior, diverse classes to the topic at hand, requiring students to synthesize information from a variety of areas. This is a student-designed project with input and approval from the faculty mentor. Students will engage in a research-based or creative project, meet with a faculty mentor one-on-one during the project, and will present their capstone at the end of the semester to students and faculty within the department.
Prerequisites: Senior standing or permission from instructor.
