GPS 0248 - Location Analytics for Business & Management Credits: 3
Location technology is transforming how the most competitive organizations use spatial business intelligence to reveal insights and patterns that drive faster, more precise decision-making. When coupled with business intelligence tools, location is the common thread connecting businesses to their customers, operations, and sustainability. This course examines how geospatial technology such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is applied to business operations/functions such as site analysis, marketing, supply chain management, and risk management. Students will learn how to use the locational component of business data to improve their understanding of markets, customers, and business processes and how spatial analysis helps organizations decrease costs, increase revenue, and reduce risk. This course is suitable for students interested in business, management, marketing, economics, entrepreneurship, real estate, hospitality, tourism, and more.
