PADM 0600 - Foundations of Public Administration

This course is the introduction to the MPA program and examines the political as well as the administrative context of public service. The foundations of modern administrative theory, as well as the latest in leadership theory and methods, are examined, along with discussion of how these theories apply situationally. The similarities and distinctions of public service and for-profit management are emphasized, and the myths associated with each will be explored.
