Minors in English

Transfer students must complete 9 credits at Westfield, with 6 credits taken at the 0300 level.

Requirements for the Literature Minor - 18 Credits

Students take 15 credits made up of the following courses:

ENGL 0210 - British Literature to 1603 Credits: 3 or
ENGL 0211 - British Literature 1603-1780 Credits: 3 or
ENGL 0212 - British Literature from 1780 to the Present Credits: 3
ENGL 0216 - American Literature to 1865 Credits: 3 or
ENGL 0217 - American Literature Since 1865 Credits: 3
Any other 0300-level literature course Credits: 3
Additional 0200- or 0300-level literature courses, (one of which may be ENGL 0213 or ENGL 0215 , courses designed specifically for non-majors) Credits: 6

One 3-credit course focusing on literature before 1800, selected from the following list:

ENGL 0210 - British Literature to 1603 Credits: 3
ENGL 0211 - British Literature 1603-1780 Credits: 3
ENGL 0221 - World Literature Credits: 3
ENGL 0228 - Introduction to Shakespeare Credits: 3
ENGL 0317 - Shakespeare: Tragedies and Histories Credits: 3
ENGL 0318 - Shakespeare: Comedies and Romances Credits: 3
