The Art Department offers a B.A. Degree in Art with various concentrations and minors. Internships on and off campus are available to all art majors and minors. All courses are open to the university’s students who meet the proper prerequisites of each class.
The Arno Maris Art Gallery, located in the Ely Campus Center, is staffed by the Art Department and presents national and international exhibitions, as well as an annual student exhibition. The gallery also maintains the University’s Art Collection that contains many fine works of art which are exhibited periodically across campus.
The art studios in The Catherine Dower Center for Performing and Visual Arts are open to all art majors and students that are taking art classes for all of their studio-related projects. Students may participate in the graphic design and fine arts clubs which, along with the department, sponsor trips to galleries throughout the year, participates in the creation of university’s Persona Magazine, and other campus related activities. Trips to regional museums and galleries are a regular part of the department’s art classes along with presentations and workshops with regional and national visiting artist.
