The Music Management program is designed to provide Music majors with a cohesive and comprehensive business management background that can lead to successful careers as music managers or music entrepreneurs. Music Management jobs include performance marketer, venue manager, music artist representative, concert promoter, booking agent, music or instrument distributor, media productions manager, media operation manager, public relations specialist, talent scout, band manager, tour manager, and copyright administrator.

Applied Music Study (16 Credits)
Applied Music (Instrumental or Voice) includes weekly Studio Class and attendance/performance at department recitals. Note:
Students have the option of proposing a self-directed Area of Focus tailored to their interest and created in collaboration with their advisor. Under advisement, students may petition the departmental curriculum committee for course substitutions in areas such as: music ensembles, music technology, music business or management, music production, composition, applied music in another area, and multi-media arts performance or production. Course substitutions must align with a coherent course of study articulated by the student in their petition. Typically, this petition will be submitted at the time that they establish a Self-Directed Area of Focus. Ensemble Performance (8 Credits)
In each semester enrolled as a music major within the BA in Music, students must have continuous enrollment in two ensemble for 0.5 credits each. One shall be assigned by the department, and the other shall be selected by the student in consultation with their advisor. Students should note that some ensembles may require an audition.
