ECON 0319 - Development of Economic Thought
Credits: 3
This course explores the history of economic ideas through the lives and contributions of individual economists spanning the 18th through 21st centuries. Course content is economic, historical, philosophical, political, and biographical in nature. Students will learn how various economic theories and models were discovered, developed, and revised within the context of real-world economic events. The course will include a review of influential schools of economic thought, such as: classical, neo-classical, marxist, keynesian, new keynesian, post-keynesian, austrian, and behavioral.
Prerequisites: ECON 0101 or ECON 0102 .
